For I Know the Plans I Have for You – Bible Study on Jeremiah 29:11-13

In our Bible study on Jeremiah 29:11-13, the Lord is speaking to the nation of Israel through Jeremiah, the weeping prophet. Jeremiah says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope. Then [...]

Trusting in God’s Plan

When we talk about pride and idolatry, it seems pretty cut-and-dry. Be humble, and don’t think too highly of yourself. Got it. But our sinful flesh seems to find new ways of deceiving us and luring us back into our old, wicked ways. I finally had to call my counselor [...]

Seeking God: Coming to Terms with His Plan

I’ve written extensively about my past relationship with God. I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, and it’s not that I’m living in the past. But there’s a reason that the Scriptures provide so much history and background. Nothing happens by accident. It’s all a part of God’s plan. [...]

This week we’re studying 1 John 1:7-9, and we’re looking at what it means to walk in the light in Scripture. We know that this is an important aspect of our Christian walk because John tells us that it was written “so that [the apostles’ or the saints’] joy may [...]

Revving and Relenting

The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot. The measuring lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; Indeed, my inheritance is beautiful to me. I will bless the Lord who has advised me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night. I [...]

How to Trust in the Lord

Being a Christian is more than saying a prayer, attending church every Sunday, and paying tithes. It’s even more than reading your Bible and being kind and forgiving to those around you. Being a Christian is a life-long dedication to following Christ in every action, thought, and word. It’s a [...]
